HYSTA Executive Club Off-site Executive & Investor Connect

The HYSTA Executive Club, is hosting an invitation-only, private off-site event on October 1st to celebrate the successful closing of the HYSTA 6th annual conference. The half-day event features fine cuisine, wine tasting, and a private tour of a Chinese Painting exhibition. Most importantly, it gives invited executives and entrepreneurs the opportunity to re-energize, network with their peers, and discuss their visions of the future - in a relaxed setting.

Moderated Panels: Opportunities and Challenges in the Web 2.0 Era & Investing in China
The event is anchored with two panel discussions focusing on opportunities and challenges in two of the year's most important trends: Web 2.0 and China investing . Ten years into the commercial launch of the Internet, we have entered a new period of tremendous global innovation and change, some call it web 2.0. China is the second largest market for Internet users and will likely be the largest within five years. While the user growth opportunity is clear, there are many risks and challenges associated with investing in the highly entrepreneurial, emerging Chinese economy. The discussions are sure to be lively, thought-provoking and insightful.

Guided Viewing: Chinese Painting on the Eve of the Communist Revolution
Drawn from the personal collection of the early 20th-century painter Chang Shu-chi (1900-1957), this exhibition reveals the richness of Chinese painting during the turbulent years prior to the founding of the People's Republic of China. Chang was an educator and well-connected painting society member in China. Also on exhibition were art pieces by his close associates, including such renowned artists as Pan Tianshou, Liu Haisu, and Zhang Daqian. Together they reveal an intimate view into artistic circles around Shanghai, set within the political and cultural tensions of the period.

Also available for guided viewing is 'The Virgin, Saints and Angels: South America Paintings 1600-1825 from the Thoma Collection." This exhibition features 55 paintings surveying the distinctive pictorial tradition of the Viceroyalty of Peru, as European imagery became naturalized in the Andes within a new multiracial and multicultural society.
