Welcome to HYSTA (Hua Yuan Science and Technology Association).

From our humble beginnings as a networking forum for entrepreneurs in 1999, HYSTA has evolved to what it is today - one of Silicon Valley 's most dynamic organizations bridging the Pacific to enable discourse and action as the global power equation shifts.

We are at the center of a massive wave of globalization and technological disruptions. China's incredible ascension to a global powerhouse has created a path to great prosperity, yet globalization carries with it great responsibility. New challenges such as a growing dependence on ever-depleting fossil fuel, pollution, urbanization and climate change, have led to increased political and social awareness. HYSTA finds itself with an opportunity to play a role at the nexus of much change.

HYSTA is now always "top of mind" when Silicon Valley - China business is mentioned. Our Annual Conference and CEO Summit have become elite events where a Who's Who of business gathers to shape the dynamics of our world. The organization has enabled timely delivery of what the market needs in terms of access to ideas and skills. Examples of the results of this collaboration are many and played out in the news media every week with high profile partnerships between leading Chinese and American companies. Increasingly, we also see HYSTA's stature providing entrè to people and organizations beyond technology in the world's of politics and social responsibility where people with ideas encourage people of power to make change happen.

The high visibility and impact of HYSTA enabled the evolution into an organization that stretches beyond Silicon Valley. HYSTA has always had deep roots in China and now, with chapters in Shanghai and Beijing joining that in Silicon Valley, HYSTA's reach has extended to the heart of Chinese-American entrepreneurialism. China has faced a rapid demand for management skills and we now see a surge of HYSTA members returning to China to transfer their skills. Additionally, we are now able to recruit our newest generation of members from China 's own entrepreneurs creating a bi-directional flow of ideas, insights and opportunities.

So, HYSTA has surpassed its original goal. Through the hard work of many volunteers in its membership, its board and partners, HYSTA is today THE platform for entrepreneurs to share their diverse experiences and leadership lessons as well as the cross-pollination of business opportunities.

But beyond its practical business goal, HYSTA has come to play an important role as an instigator of change, an engine of social responsibility encouraging attention on other issues important to our societies. The health of the world in which we live is among those issues that have received increasing consideration and HYSTA is proud to play a role in enabling conversation and ultimately action as we look beyond business opportunity to the issues that impact us over time.

We have enjoyed the benefits of our collaboration. Now, as we share our collective ideas, experience and resources with new friends like former vice president Al Gore, we accept the responsibility to nurture and shepherd a renewed focus on our lives and our world.
